Portugal

A small country with an outsized sense of adventure. Beyond its famous Port, Portugal is home to some of Europe's most distinctive native grapes and best-kept-secret values, cultivated across landscapes as varied as the granite hills of the Douro and the cool, Atlantic-facing vineyards of Vinho Verde. Many of these grape varieties exist nowhere else, giving Portuguese wine a flavor profile that's genuinely its own. Expect bright acidity, surprising textures, and a winemaking culture unafraid to do things its own way.
